Continuing in their quest to take their state back to the stone age, Arizona lawmakers are proposing a bill that would create an embryo tracking database so that IVF doctors would be forced to report on the whereabouts of every embryo created in the state.  It is not surprising that the bill was written by the Center for Arizona Policy, an organization whose  primarily obsession is preventing same-sex couples from marrying and trying to return to a time when women could only be kindergarten teachers or housewives all under the guise of protecting “religious freedom” and families.

The Bill, available here, would required all assisted reproduction facilities to make annual reports, that would be made public, specifying what happened to each and every embryo created.  Naturally, the bill creates a number of civil and criminal penalties for anyone who fails to comply.

Just once, I would love to hear one of the backers of this bill explain how they can support a massive government intrusion into one of the most personal decisions an individual or couple can make regarding a fundamental right but are totally opposed to any sort of database that might inhibit the right to own as many guns as possible.  They are truly hypocrites of the highest order.
